Art of the possible

• HERE is some great news for all of those politicians, business people, celebrities and even billionaires who passionately profess to have the interest of the poor, the homeless and the disadvantaged at heart.

According to Tax Justice UK, the Economic Change Unit and the New Economics Foundation, a mere 2 per cent tax on assets of over £10million held by members of The Sunday Times Rich List could raise as much as £22billion.

So something can be done to alleviate the misery of millions of our fellow citizens. Their fate is not inevitable. That £22bn could feed and house many of those people we all care about.
